Walter Cronkite KB2GSD SK

The legendary US newsreader Walter Cronkite died on Friday night at the age of 92. Known as 'the voice of reason' Cronkite was a stickler for journalistic neutrality. He was a keen sailor and held the amateur radio call sign KB2GSD. His lifetime achievements are most impressive and his biography could and probably will fill several volumes. It is probably an indication of his influence that even someone so far removed from US broadcasting as I knew who he was. Here is Walter narrating a video for the ARRL called Amateur Radio Today.

And that folks is the way it was!
