Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant or Saint David's Day. St. David is the patron saint of Wales and many Welsh people wear one or both of the national emblems of Wales on their lapel to celebrate they are the daffodil or the leek. Although I live in Wales I was born in England so I do not get quite as passionate about this truly Welsh day as some of my Welsh friends so I will not be wearing a leek or a daffoldil, but I may just sport the national team's rugby shirt to show my support. To be honest I have yet to see any daffodils in my garden yet this year, so I can use that as an excuse.
So what has this to do with amateur radio you may ask; It is just a suggestion but why not call CQ for any GW stations and wish them a 'happy Saint David's Day'. How many GWs, MWs and 2W stations can you work today?
