Wouxun KG-UV3D

Not sure how long this ham radio handheld has been out, but the Wouxun KG-UV3D is a 144MHz/220Mhz dual bander suitable for our fellow radio amateurs in the US who have access to that band. It covers 136-174, 216-280 MHz and includes an upgraded 1700mAH Li-ion battery pack as standard and a redesigned black textured case. It is also available as a 144Mhz/430MHz dual bander for the rest of us.

  1. I got this radio and its great for a cheap dual band com device. I moonlight with Search & Rescue so when you get to a site there may be multiple freqs to get on; I can program it with my small netbook fast and be on the same coms in no time. I did have to download two programs for this thing one to open it up to all the freqs and the normal programing software from Powerwerx. Just google "unlock wouxum kg-uvd1p" and its on the first page. I tried all of the ones had noproblems. Just the normal working out the com port stuff. Also get the 2 meter & 420-520 one b/c when you open her up its good from 130-570 mhz
